BREAKING THE SILENCE

Happy New Year all,

I cannot believe it has been a year of silence. A year spent in a political stupor of sorts, as I come to grips with the Trump administration and the day by day un-presidential goings on in Washington.

A cabinet that now boasts a well crafted revolving door.
A stock market that doesn't know which end is up, but fortunately seems to be running on auto-pilot.
A world that shares my stunned silence and abject horror of a once proud nation.
A foreign leader that loves Trump in two separate meetings yet continues to manufacture nukes.
Two of the presidents closest political insiders sentenced to prison for multiple felony counts.
A tax plan that only benefitted the rich, cannot be paid for and only served to ratchet up the deficit.
And I could go on. And on. And on.

And yet, for the hundreds of political horrors, he remains in power.
He remains a hero in the minds of his supporters.
How you may ask?
It's simple.
They don't care.
They don't care that he is using his power and his family to get rich off from his position.
They don't care that he lies and fabricates everything in an attempt to claim victories.
They don't care that he uses FEMA to reward his red states and punish the blue states.
They don't care that he uses ICE to separate families and didn't even have the decency to take inventory of them so that they could reunite once the children get out of their cages.
They don't care he is a laughing stock.
They just don't care.
Because his racist agenda is their agendas.
He empowers the worst in them all and boldly goes where smarter, cooler heads never dare.

The only truth he has ever spoken was said during the campaign...he truly could go to Times Square, shoot someone and not lose any of his political base.

And so one year later, I come begrudgingly out of my political coma...my stupor of sorts.
And one year later, his red hat wearing political supporters continue in theirs.
Lord help us all.

And that is the world...the "World According to Kimba."
