The ouster of Veterans Affairs Secretary Eric Shinseki is just another case of a decorated veteran getting screwed over by the system.
The VA is a massive bureaucracy that cannot be controlled by one man. To hold Shinseki up to shame and public ridicule over the criminal actions of others in VA Phoenix is misguided and utterly unfair. Do they really think his forced resignation will help one iota?
Good luck finding someone to take his place. The VA has problems for decades now. Decades. These problems have been exasperated because so many veterans are coming home since President Obama is drawing the two decades long wars to a close.
And with Congress unable and unwilling to fully fund the system despite a huge influx of patients, the new VA director better keep their resume close and updated.
