IN THE ABSENCE OF TRUE LEADERSHIP, PEOPLE WILL LISTEN TO DAMN NEAR ANYBODY

And this article in pravda english proves my point......
A former Reagan official has issued a public warning that the Bush administration is preparing to orchestrate a staged terrorist attack in the United States, transform the country into a dictatorship and launch a war with Iran within a year.
Paul Craig Roberts, a former Assistant Secretary of the Treasury, blasted Thursday a new Executive Order, released July 17, allowing the White House to seize the assets of anyone who interferes with its Iraq policies and giving the government expanded police powers to exercise control in the country. Roberts, who spoke on the Thom Hartmann radio program, said: "When Bush exercises this authority [under the new Executive Order], there's no check to it. So it really is a form of total, absolute, one-man rule."
"The American people don't really understand the danger that they face," Roberts said, adding that the so-called neoconservatives intended to use a renewal of the fight against terrorism to rally the American people around the fading Republican Party. Old-line Republicans like Roberts have become increasingly disenchanted with the neoconservative politics of the Bush administration, which they see as a betrayal of fundamental conservative values.
The administration figures themselves and prominent Republican propagandists ... are preparing us for another 9/11 event or series of events," he said. "You have to count on the fact that if al Qaeda is not going to do it, it is going to be orchestrated." Roberts suggested that in the absence of a massive popular outcry, only the federal bureaucracy and perhaps the military could put constraints on Bush's current drive for a fully-fledged dictatorship. "They may have had enough. They may not go along with it," he said. The radio interview was a follow-up to Robert's latest column, in which he warned that "unless Congress immediately impeaches Bush and Cheney, a year from now the U.S. could be a dictatorial police state at war with Iran." Roberts, who has been dubbed the "Father of Reaganomics" and has recently gained popularity for his strong opposition to the Bush administration and the Iraq War.

Kimba,

You are just showing me this because you cannot believe that someone could be so dumb to say such things… let alone believe them right? I use to believe all the “Executive Orders” bit with Clinton, and many (of us John Birchers… no more) were waiting for Clinton to put all his “Executive Orders” into action and stay in office forcibly. It never happened, it never will.

Thom Hartmann is a New Age “ancient magic” guy who is a Lefty, and he had on an anti-Semite – Paul Craig Roberts (see quote below). I am sure that if another genuine terrorist attack happens many on the left (the 42% of Democrats that believe Bush was either behind 9/11 or let it knowingly happen) will jump up and say they “told us so.”

As for Iran, I hope we do go after Iran next. You see, when Japan attacked us we declared war on the ideology of Fascism. We didn’t strike Japan first; we attacked Germany and were also at war with fascist Italy and feudalistic Japan because of their ideology. Similarly, we are at war with an Islamo-Fascism that should be defeated. This ideology lives and breathes in Saudi Arabia and Syria as well.

What a plainly horrific conspiracy-minded article and interview. This thinking will bring the young revolutionaries more into our midst and be the catalyst for the overthrowing (if any overthrowing is to be done) of our great Republic.

The only weapons of mass destruction in the Middle East are Israel’s 200 nuclear warheads. Israel has the real thing, not a mere desire for a program that might produce a weapon in the future.

It is Israel – not Iran – who has refused to sign the Non-Proliferation Treaty.

It is Israel that occupies by force of arms parts of Syria and Palestine. Arabs do not occupy Israeli territory.

It is Israel that treats Palestinians the way National Socialists treated Jews by bottling them up in ghettos and assassinating them at will.

On September 18 President Bush declared: "Arafat has failed as a leader." What Bush means is that Arafat, unlike Bush, has failed to carry out Israel’s orders. Arafat’s support in Palestine far exceeds Bush’s support in the US or Sharon’s support in Israel.

Every day the Israelis bite off another piece of Palestine. Arafat is a "failed leader" because he has not led Palestinians off into the wilderness for 40 years, the better to deliver Palestine up to Israel.

The root of the Middle Eastern problem is Israel’s uncanny ability to manipulate American public opinion and US foreign policy. This unique power means Israel doesn’t have to compromise. Instead, the Israelis escalate and involve us ever more deeply and one-sidedly in their disputes with Arabs.

Another quick note:

Leadership has nothing to do with people believing weird stories and conspiracies. Anti-Semitic thought was around during the greatest of Presidencies, as were conspiracy ideas. There was even a party platform called the Anti-Mason Party, co-founded by none other than John Quincy Adams - sixth President of the United States.

Much like today as it was then ("nothing new under the sun" ~ OT) people do not know the history nor the philosophy behind many of the ideas that pervade religious ideology. If they did, the "Grand-Conspiracy" of Freemasonry (as an example) fades into the background of understanding Gnostic influence on the "mystery religions."

See:
http://religiopoliticaltalk.blogspot.com/2007/08/what-is-freemasonry.html

So one can see that Freemasonry is a Luciferian "cult," but in the context of the ancient thinking of Gnosticism. (They don’t, in other words, knowingly worship Lucifer as the evil respondent to a just and merciful God of the Bible, they view the God of the Bible as the creator of matter [the earth for instance], and anything material is considered evil verses anything in the spirit realm being considered good/pure, thus God, as creator of material things must be evil.) Many Christians - like George Washington - can make it through many of the levels or simply be bestowed the 33rd level without realizing the true “hidden meaning” (Gnosis) to the symbols behind such ritualistic acts as are found in Freemasonry. Many Christians still go to the Blue Lodge not realizing what they are practicing through rituals… because they are hidden in their true meaning until you reach the upper levels.

While the Founding Fathers, another example, may have had more knowledge about political philosophy than I do, they didn't have more knowledge in religious philosophy than I do. Every one has their specialty or area of knowledge, so when John Adam's helped found the Anti-Mason Party, he wasn't doing so on the knowledge that they should be countered philosophically or theologically, as the Church Fathers did so aptly. He chose -- rather -- to counter the “surface issues” never really changing hearts or minds or fostering a true understanding of what could counter such thinking... even though he was one of the better leaders we had.
