911 ANNIVERSARY TOMORROW: LEST WE EVER FORGET

On what should be a national day of remembrance, tomorrow marks yet another anniversary of the tragedy of 9/11. On this day, every news channel should rerun the coverage from 9/11 exactly as it occurred that day. Banks should close, schools should do nothing but watch 911 reruns on TV (for those children mature enough to understand), and all politicians should take the day off. And, oh yes, no one should buy a petroleum product at all on 9/11.
But, most of all, this nation should be an absolute sea of American flags.
Please fly one at home and your office.
If you don't own one, get one....or a passport and a one way ticket somewhere.
Tomorrow, we do not have political parties, races, genders, or any thing else that divides us. Tomorrow, we all all just Americans....in mourning of the biggest tragedy we
(hopefully) will ever know in our lifetimes.

But then again, it is 9-10-2008 today, so lets get a little political, especially when it is the latest Keith Olbermann rant in regards to the blatant use of the victims of 9/11 for their own political gain. The video is 6 minutes long, and worth listening to.

I wanted to say a blessing to you and yours Kimba. To others who visit here, use this day to take a break from the riff-raff and meditate (if only for a few minutes) on the heroes who perished on this day 7 years ago and since in foreign wars in this war-on-terror.

God Bless.

And for those "surfers" who got here through Googling 9/11, let me tell you that Papa is as far right as I am far, far....ok, even farther than that left.

But if there ever is going to be a shared core belief, if there ever is going to be a common ground between us, it is in the rememberance of the ground where these towers once stood, and in the love of our country that Papa and I both share.

The rest is in the details (which we love to analyze and argue about).

But without our love of this country, and a fervent hunger to be involved and engaged in the direction this country is taking, we would have nothing.

What I am feebly trying to say is that yesterday Papa was a conservative, and I was a liberal. Today, we are Americans only.

God bless you. And God bless America and all those who have died making our lives livable.

And as Papa has written, let's all take a moment to remember, lest we ever forget.

Thanks Papa.
Kimba

We all share our own political beliefs. As opposed as we seem to be as a nation, we can all surely join as one in reflecting on heroes that were taken too early from us, and taking a moment of silence this weekend to thank them.
