In a somewhat unexpected turn of events, John Edwards changed his promise to take his campaign to Super Tuesday, and "suspended" his campaign (a full on drop out would end his federal matching campaign funds). Edwards could certainly see the writing on the wall when he failed to even achieve a second place finish in his home state of South Carolina. Edwards claims he will speak to both campaigns before endorsing one of the democratic campaigns, delaying his inevitable endorsement of his fellow "agent of change" Barack Obama, to reduce the calls of a Quid Pro Quo arrangement. John Edwards, suspending his campaign hopes of election to the Oval Office, and possibly ending his political career, all one term of it.

Kimba, Fascinating debate last night. I was not big on Edwards this year but he did show some class allowing Hillary and Obama to keep a real conversation going.
Edwards threatened / promised to go all the way to Super Tuesday. He saidf it many times before in his stump speeches.
I think the third place showing in his home state showed how futile his attempt was, and how worthless he would be as a number two on the ticket.
